Intensive Russian Strikes Eliminate Power In Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water systems, per reports from local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has increased attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "real steps" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen missiles struck energy facilities, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A wave of strikes struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.

Local officials said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A minor was killed and three other people were hurt.

The strikes succeed nights of air raids in the area, portions of which remain under the control of invading troops.

All of Ukraine is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
