Per new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a clemency request for review by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Federal Prison

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a source provided information indicating the inmate is working on the clemency petition. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the House judiciary committee, declared in a official statement that the facility's chief was “helping” Maxwell with document preparation and submission to aid her effort for executive mercy.

The exact content of the “commutation application” remain unclear, the congressman noted.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been receiving “customized” meals that are hand-delivered to her cell, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” private meetings for her and her guests.

The visits reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which Raskin described as an exceptional measure given the potential danger and potential for unsupervised contact.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other inmates, she was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to contact and how staff would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she reportedly employed the warden as her private aide.

The statement states that those writing to her would send files directly to the warden, who would hand them over to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the official to digitize and send to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Reported

Other privileges allegedly granted to her include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to the convict is not something he has considered,” the spokesperson noted.

Context and Developments

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that she told friends and family in electronic messages that she was more content at the new prison than her previous prison.

In August, she was moved from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most inmates are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as exceptional, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the deputy attorney general, the official, who also once acted as Donald Trump's private attorney.

This questioning came as the Trump administration was facing increasing scrutiny to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around the President's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on sex-trafficking charges.

Congressional Response

In the news release, Raskin also announced that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and called on the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any form of clemency to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” the representative stated in the letter. “Your Administration should not be providing her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

He inquired whether he had talked about a possible clemency for the convict with Blanche or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the transfer or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, relatives or agents have made any promises to the President or his legal team.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an petition from Maxwell on her sex-trafficking conviction.
